repurposing flyers

new flyers origamii was feeling ambivalent about using flyers to advertise my classes.   flyers are an effective way to let people know about my work, but i felt concerned about the extra impact on the environment of the more usual option of professional printing on glossy paper.

so i decided to use simple photocopy printing of my own hand drawn designs, and to encourage those who might pick up one of my flyers to re-purpose them.

here are some suggestions for re-using my flyers –

* use the back of the flyer for writing a shopping list or phone message

* spend a little time colouring-in the designs i have drawn…colouring-in can be a very relaxing process, and might lead to some creative doodling on the back of the flyer!

* cut the flyer into squares and use for origami. I’ve included some pictures and links below with instructions for a crane, and a really simple yet very functional bookmark.

i’d love to hear your ideas for repurposing flyers too…feel free to share your ideas and creations on my facebook page Alex Westaway Yoga.

These corner bookmarks are so handy...they fit snugly onto the page corner, and do not protrude above the page so are less likely to fall out. (when my oldest daughter was a toddler she loved pulling out my bookmarks!...not these ones though!) instructions at http://www.origami-guide.com/origami-bookmarks.html
